| Our curriculum is traditional, but our delivery reflects an awareness and appreciation of different learning styles. We strive to ensure sound mathematical understanding in five main areas: Graphical (graphs, displays of data, geometry); Physical (manipulatives, measurements, data-gathering); Verbal (description, explanation); Analytical (algebra, symbols, functions); and Numerical (approximations, sequences). We encourage critical thinking through class projects. |
| We strive to prepare students to: |
| |
• use a broad range of mathematical skills and knowledge
• be independent, analytical, and creative problem solvers
• use a variety of techniques and strategies to solve theoretical and real-life problems
• use technology skillfully and appropriately
• communicate mathematical ideas effectively and precisely. |
